BiographyKeramiker, Naturphilosoph, Autodidakt, Hugenotte, um 1533–1539 in Saintes, Mitte der 1550er-Jahre als Keramiker von „rustiques figulines“ erfolgreich. Protegiert durch Anne de Montmorency, dem obersten Befehlshaber Frankreichs, auch während des Aufruhrs in Saintes 1562. Einladung nach Paris durch Catherine de’ Medici und ihren Sohn, König Charles IX., u.a. Grotte am Palais des Tuileries. Vorträge, gesammelt in den „Discours admirables“ 1580. Unter Heinrich III. wegen seines Protestantismus eingekerkert in der Bastille, starb zwei Jahre darauf.
