BeschreibungTranskription:Dear Mr. Holt,
I am very glad to hear from you again.
The "meaning of life" is the title of
a remarkable german book by Müller-
Lyer. I have reviewed this book in
theBerliner Tageblatt (Zeitgeist) and
probably, this is the article forwarded
to you by Maurice Magnus – without
my knowledge. But if you think it
interesting enough for the Independent,
I have no objection whatever against
its reproduction – on the contrary:
I would be pleased for my sake as
well as for the sake of Mr. Müller-
Lyer.
You enjoyed your visit to
Japan; so did Mr. D. Starr Jordan.
Japan is certainly a country where
the peace movement will spread.
More so perhaps than in the military
states of Middle-Europe.
The treaties of which you
write are not yet passed, at
the present hour. I
look forward to the decision with
as much anxiety as yourself. The
issue is of such enormous
importance for our movement!
The enclosed Cutting
will show you that I have
written a new book. – The
translator of my Memoirs, Nathan
Haskell Dole, has already finished
translating it; but I do not know
as yet whether he has selected
a publisher.
Beieve me
dear Mr. Holt, with kindest regards
yours very sincerely
Bertha Suttner
