Friday

Dear Mrs Johnson
I have been so
sorry to hear that your
poor child has been so ill.
I hope with all my heart
that your anxiety is at
an end.There is but a
glimpse of silver lining
to such a cloud which

is that you are detained
in New York. Don’t abhor us
for feeling a subdued pleasure
in this. If you are able to
look out on the world won't
you & Mr. Johnson come in
to see us next Sunday
or any other Sunday.
Mrs. Jordan joins me in
my sympathy & hopes.
Yours sincerely
Frances Hodgson Burnett
