Über die Arbeit
'Iris Zogels primary interest is in the objects of daily life. She seperates objects from their normal surroundings to take away their usual context. While giving them new forms and structures, a defamiliarization takes place. A new sight or image of the object becomes into being, through which the original task, or better yet the original meaning is still visible. So, different layers of imagination cover the object and question at long last the conditions of our seeing: the perception of the objects, that surround us.' (BilboArteFondacion, Bilbao2002)
