Beschreibung#flashbackfriday 07.05.2021Das Foto zeigt die „Industrie- und Gewerbeausstellung für Rheinland und Westfalen“ im Jahr 1902. Auf einem großen Gebiet am Rheinufer von Düsseldorf-Pempelfort und Düsseldorf-Golzheim wurden ca. 160 temporäre Hallen und Gebäude errichtet, um die Erzeugnisse der 2500 Aussteller zu präsentieren. Im heute noch bestehenden, aber später umgebauten Kunstpalast fand darüber hinaus eine „deutsch-nationale“ Kunstausstellung statt. Die spektakuläre Schau fand vom 1. Mai bis 20. Oktober statt und wurde von fünf Millionen Menschen besucht.

The photo shows the “Industrial and Commercial Exhibition for Rhineland and Westphalia” in 1902. Around 160 temporary halls and buildings were built in a large area on the banks of the Rhine at Düsseldorf-Pempelfort and Düsseldorf-Golzheim to present the products of the 2,500 exhibitors. A “German-national” art exhibition also took place in the Kunstpalast, which still exists today but was later rebuilt. The spectacular show took place from May 1st to October 20th and was visited by five million people.
