[WEIHNACHTEN 1971]

Date1971
Description"The family sits around the table, sharing food and gifts. The cameraman mostly focusses on the very traditional decoration of the christmas tree. It is filled with candles, stars and pine cones. An elderly member of the family receives a porcelain doll, the women show each other jewelery they were gifted. A man (presumably the primal cameraman) receives a wooden 3D puzzle. He was first given an enormous necklace by his wife that existed of a number of smaller gifts attached to it. The original cameraman again makes his wife, at the end of the film and at the end of the party, when everyone has left, sit next to the christmas tree. She reads some given letter out loud, while he goes back and forth between her and details of the christmas tree. At one point, it appears to be the end when the wife stops reading and starts blowing out the candles. This scene was put in the film twice (it rather looks like a mistake). He zooms in on a christmas ball hanging in the tree, which has the word 'Ende' on it, the image turns black but he returns once again to a close-up of a candle before really ending the film."
